Serious coaching, without the seriousness

I’m Coach Rob - I’m a Strength Coach and Sports Performance Nutritionist, specialising in powerlifting, performance training, and sustainable nutrition. I’ve competed at the highest level, representing Australia at the IDFPA World Championships in South Korea (2025).

I work with athletes across all experience levels; from high-performance and elite competitors to people new to lifting. I always meet clients where they’re at and adapt training to real bodies, real goals, and real lifestyles.

I have experience coaching queer and gender-diverse athletes, and I’m really passionate about creating a supportive, inclusive environment where everyone can train hard, feel safe, and enjoy the process.

My coaching philosophy is simple: nail the fundamentals, build progressively, and most importantly - have fun while getting strong.

Sound like a good fit? Let’s chat and see how we can work together.

Real people. Real progress.

Every starting point is different. Here’s what working together looks like, from people I’ve coached at different stages in their strength journey.

What sets Rob apart from your standard strength coach is his innate ability to meet the athlete where they are at. If they are an absolute beginner, he drills the fundamentals to futureproof progression. If you are not a beginner, he can find your limit and walk you right up to it so you can push it a little further away.

He is one of the few coaches who understands that biomechanics are unique and there is NO "One Size Fits All" option for movement.  He understands the difference between "exercise" and "training". Most importantly: He makes training fun. No slogans, no hype, no 6 week Summer Boot Camp cliche. Just work, reps and measurable results. I've blitzed every PB I had by at least 20% while working with Rob.

Like most people- I’ve had numerous gym memberships over the years that have gone to waste because I’ve not really known what I was doing. At times I even spent money on PT sessions to learn more, but ultimately didnt feel like the PT’s were all that interested or engaged and again felt like it was a waste of money.

So when I started going to Pony Club Gym with a friend - I didn’t know what to expect. What I got was Rob. By far THE best coach I’ve ever encountered.

Rob is not only welcoming and inclusive, he is genuinely excited to see people grow and flourish in gym spaces and get strong. Everything he does, from coaching to nutrition is personal. He makes it work for you and with you.

In less than a year, I’ve become stronger and more self confident because I’ve had Rob as a coach, and for the first time in my life, I’m excited to keep showing up and discovering what I’m capable of.

I first dipped into powerlifting about a decade ago but ended up on a long hiatus when it didn't feel fun anymore; training with Rob has rekindled my love of it.

Rob is wonderful at meeting lifters where they are at; he manages to balance teaching new lifters the fundamentals of the movements while developing more experienced lifters to get the most out of them.

His attention to detail is incredible and I have benefited from him making tiny tweaks to things like my foot position in bench or how I unrack the bar for squats.

The very best part is that Rob's classes are attended by a range of ages, genders, and sizes which speaks to the supportive environment he creates.

My second time around in this sport feels much more joyful and I am very grateful to Rob for that.

If we work together, expect hard (but fun) sessions, practical nutrition, and the occasional unhinged cooking reel. Check out more on Instagram, and if you’ve got questions, swing me a DM. I’m always happy to share a few cooking tips from my previous life as a professional chef.
